Some Days Just Be Like That Episode 2
Lately my days are spent inside more than outside but I am glad I took the time to right this out. Happy Tuesday, my friends.
I keep my work boots in our laundry room by the back door.
(Work boots, which by the way, are not cute with little chickens or colorful polka dots on them, but are true working muck boots. I tried the cute little boots twice and while they are great for gardening work or walking through mud puddles in the parking lot of Target after a light rain or some such jaunt they do not hold up to the rigors of true farm work. At least not the kind we do here in southwest Louisiana on a pig farm where it’s either drought conditions or all the rain all at once that doesn’t drain away and creates giant personalized swamp pits.)
Anyway, I keep mine by the back door and usually just slide my feet into them whilst juggling a couple of feed bowls (kitchen scraps & treats for the chickens in the morning and some for the piggles) my phone, and water bottle. One particular morning I didn’t pay much attention and as soon as my foot slipped into the second boot I thought, “Hmmm, something doesn’t feel right.”
Oy vey. I rolled my eyes at myself and determined that I really should tune in a bit more so that my day doesn’t go sideways.
But did I tune in?
Did I happen to notice that I also had my pants* on backwards and my shirt on inside out?
No, I most assuredly did not.
Some days just be like that I guess.
The Farmer assured me that the pigs and chickens didn’t care and probably didn’t even notice.
But I’m pretty sure at least the chickens noticed. I think I saw something in the way they looked at me…kinda judgy, those cheeky little feathered t-rexs.
*Woman, how do you put your pants on backwards and not notice?
Well, using the term pants is a wee bit misleading. I mean they are pants but they’re the stretchy exercise not actual pants sort of pants so you understand how easy it would be to put them on backwards and not notice, right? Right? Anyone?
